Inspire Others, Be Inspired
“The miracle is this – the more we share, the more we have”.

Interested in a meaningful experience? Do you want to travel and volunteer at the same time? Volunteering is about giving back as well as learning about another culture, another way of living, sharing, giving and receiving. We have a volunteer program where our volunteers work hands-on with the population in a safe and supportive environment.
Go Inspired’s Volunteer in Romania Orphanage gives volunteers a chance to give their time at a hospital with children in an enchanted city in Romania. Volunteers will work with at-risk children and babies who need love and attention. Volunteers will assist with daily care, as well as playing with babies and children to give them much needed attention. There will also be possibilities to volunteer in a nearby Roma village doing various projects. Volunteers are required to work 1 shift a day-either morning or evening for a minimum of 5 days per week.
The Morning Shift, 9:30am-12:30pm:
Volunteers will begin this shift with an hour and a half of time simply holding and playing with the babies. During the morning volunteers will hand out diapers to all five floors of the hospital for any children left without parents. Volunteers will then help the nurses to change diapers on the two floors, and also help feed if possible.
The Afternoon Shift, 3:00pm-6:00pm:
Volunteers will take toys, walkers , play mats and other items to the children on two floors. Shoes are provided so that children old enough to walk can get out of their cribs and run around. Every child has different needs and for many simply being held is enough. At 4:30pm volunteers will help change diapers. Between 5:30 and 6:00pm volunteers will help the nurses with the evening feeding.
Psychiatric and Long Term Care Volunteer Opportunities: Sometimes volunteers are needed to work with the older children who have long-term diseases, such as cancer and diabetes. Volunteers play cards or games and do art projects and puzzles in the play therapy room. There is a play therapist who works alongside the volunteer helping to translate, and while it can be a challenge to communicate with the children, smiles and love are understood in any language. If you are interested in working on this floor, please make that clear on your application.
There will always be a shift supervisor to give offer the volunteers guidance and support while in the hospital.
To apply for a position, volunteers must send in:
- Digital Photo
- Copy of Passport
- Police Report (Please bring original to Romania)
- Immunization Records (Make sure your shots are up-to-date. Volunteers must have Measles, Rubella, Hepatitis A and B and Tetanus shots.) (Please bring original to Romania.)
- Doctor’s Note stating you are in good general health (Please bring original to Romania.)
If you are interested in volunteering on the Maternity floor, the following tests are required: stool sample and throat culture. The tests can also be completed in Romania, but the costs will be covered independently by the volunteer.
