Loving Italy! See the foods that make this country so special!

As you know, Go Inpsired loves sending our participants to Italy for the summer. Italy’s warm culture, along with its incredible food make visitors fall in love each year.

We came across this splendid video of some of the fanous products of Italy. Of course it is just a sliver of what Italy has to offer but we thought the scenery in the video was great .

Food of Italy

This year, our Italian Interior Design students were treated to a fabulous Tuscan restaurant in the center of Florence (away from the tourists). They were able to sample so many interesting Tuscan dishes made with only Tuscan products along with delicious red wine. YUM YUM!

What are some of your favorite Italian dishes? If you have some favorite restaurants, pass them along this way! We love discovering!

High School Trip to USA

Go Inspired will be starting an exciting program in Bethel, CT July 2014. This program is for Spanish students ages 12-18 who want to practice English, live with an American family and get to know American culture first hand. The following summer, Bethel, CT students will have the opportunity to go to Castellon, Spain to live like locals on the sunny coast which is 1 hour from Valencia and 2 hours from Barcelona.

We are currently looking for families from Bethel, CT to host a Spanish student for 3-4 weeks in July 2014. Families will be paid a weekly amount to host the student. We are looking for families who have an interest in involving the Spanish student in the family’s daily life and also families who want their children to go to Spain in the future. The Spanish students will have activities from in the morning and afternoon but will be free in most evenings.

This is a great opportunity for both families and students to exchange cultures. If you are interested, please let us know!

“A diverse set of experiences in life could be the greatest education you could have.”

At Go Inspired, we truly believe that in order for this world to be a better place, people need to travel and get out of their comfort zones. They need to meet other people who are different from them, who think diffently and eat different foods. If we all stay in one place, how can we know more?

Steve Jobs was a man who never finished college as we all know. Yet he went on to become such a successful person that changed the world and how we communicate. Steve always wanted to know more and never settled for what society was pushing for. This is a lesson we can take from him. We need to challenge ourselves-to think outside the box-to get out of our comfort zone. We need to take risks and explore without worrying so much about  what other people will think.

In a recent article in www.people.com, there was an interview with Ashton Kutcher who is playing Steve jobs in a movie. This is what Ashton Kutcher said about Steve Jobs.

“I found a speech that he gave and he was speaking to high school kids that were about to graduate. He encouraged these kids to maybe go to Paris and try to write poetry or fall in love with two people … maybe this standard education wasn’t the greatest means to creative solutions,” Kutcher, 35, told reporters at a press conference for the film in N.Y.C.

“I wanted to do this film to inspire young people to create the world they live in. I think that was an ethos of Steve Jobs,” he said Monday.

“A diverse set of experiences in life could be the greatest education you could have. I found it to be very surprising that would be his opinion. And I think it was an opinion that he carried throughout his life. I think it’s a value.”

It is time to challenge yourself…to continue learning…to follow your dreams. The rewards are endless and can be carried with you throughout your life.

Our battered suitcases….

“Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go.
But no matter, the road is life.”
